It happens every year at this time. My landlady is barking: “Yo, dog, grapes to pick, eggplants to harvest, melons, tomatoes, grab some pruning shears and give me a hand!” Then she says, “Oh, wait. You don’t have hands. Never mind. Just pee on something and take a nap in the compost.” That’s what she said. It may have sounded like “why must I do everything myself around this place?” but once you learn to read their tone and body language you can understand their efforts to communicate with us.
